Israr Ahmad (April 26, 1932 – April 14, 2010) was a prominent Pakistani Islamic scholar, philosopher, and writer. He was the founder of the Tanzeem-e-Islami organization, which aims to create a society based on Islamic principles and values.
Dr. Israr Ahmad’s contributions to Islamic scholarship include his in-depth Quranic exegesis (Tafsir) known as “Bayan-ul-Quran,” where he provided a comprehensive interpretation of the Quranic text. He emphasized the understanding and implementation of the Quran in contemporary times, addressing social, political, and moral issues faced by Muslims.
In addition to his religious teachings, Israr Ahmad actively participated in educational reforms, advocating for an Islamic perspective in curriculum development.
